As a student in Our Lady and St Chad Catholic Academy Sixth Form You will have a much greater responsibility for your learning, you will be expected to prepare for lessons by gaining much of the knowledge required for topics beforehand. Lessons will be more focused on applying, analysing and evaluating the knowledge which you have learned independently. You will be set extended research to do outside of the classroom and reading which needs to be completed in preparation for lessons. Independent work will also be assessed in your lessons and will be monitored very carefully by your teachers. Private study makes up a vital part of your timetable. Alongside the subjects taught on your timetable you will have dedicated slots for private study. You will be expected to do a minimum of 6 hours of private study for each subject that you are taking in addition to the time spent in lessons. All lessons where you have private study must be taken in school.
