2021 Results – Appeals process
Deadline for submitting appeals: Friday 3 September 2021
The appeals process at Our Lady and St Chad Catholic Academy follows the guidance from JCQ.
There are two stages to the appeals process.
1. Stage One: Centre reviews
You may submit a centre review if you believe Our Lady and St Chad Catholic Academy has:
- Failed to follow its procedures properly or consistently in arriving at a result, or
- Has made an administrative error in relation to the result.
2. Stage Two: Appeals to the awarding organisation
Once you have received the outcome of the centre review you may decide to make an appeal the awarding organisation (the exam board. This is if you believe:
- Our Lady and St Chad Catholic Academy did not follow it’s procedure properly in arriving at the result, or
- There has been a procedural, or an administrative error by the awarding body, or
- The grade reflects an unreasonable exercise of academic judgement (either in how the grade was determined and/or the selection of evidence.

If you are considering an appeal we strongly recommend you read this document in full, as it contains all of the information you will need to know.
As you are not going on to further education, any appeals are not considered to be priority appeals, therefore the deadline for submitting appeals to Our Lady and St Chad Catholic Academy is the 3 September 2021.
