Brief introduction to subject:
Studying Social Justice will give individuals an opportunity to voice their opinions and act on what they are passionate about. Students will have the opportunity to look at topics which are more relevant to them and as well as current affairs.
Through Social Justice students will be able to develop upon skill from other subjects, like persuasive writing, debates, presentational skills, and forming a well-structured argument on a topic of interest to them.
Through Social Justice, students will be given the opportunity to volunteer either in school or within the local community, this can then be put forward towards one of the many awards offered at 6th form, like Pope John Paul II Award, CAFOD Volunteering Award.
Assessment
Course is made up of 11 modules.
Students will be assessed on classwork, attendance, participation in class and an end of module assignment.
There is no external examination and all work can be completed within the one lesson a week.

Students have found Social Justice beneficial regardless of their career path. It has given them the confidence to present presentation, give their opinions and lead within a team. Students have mentioned how in university interviews this was brought up as a topic of interest and asked how it linked with the course they were applying for or their chosen job. Students were able to articulate the benefits Social Justice brought them to support them in their career journey.
